QV Australia is contracted to the New South Wales Valuer General
to supply valuations for rating and taxation purposes within a
number of local government areas in New South Wales.
The valuations are made in accordance with the requirements
of the Valuation of Land Act 1916. This Act requires the
assessment of land values, as at 1 July each year.
Each Council receives updated valuations on a cyclical basis
and uses these values as the basis for rates. Landowners
are advised of these valuations through a Notice of Valuation,
which is issued by the Valuer General.
In 2009 we entered the Victorian market and have contracts with individual councils
and with the Valuer General Victoria. The valuations are made under the Valuation
of Land Act 1960 and subsequent Victorian Government Valuations standards and guidelines.
In addition, the Office of State Revenue, receives updated valuations annually
for all land tax liable land, and uses these valuations for assessments of land tax.
